Week 55: You go an inch....the Lord gives you a mile.

(For those of you who noticed there wasn't a post last week, and noticed I skipped a week, it would be because she didn't write last week. :) So everything is current and correct.)

Hello Family and Friends!!! :D

Another week has passed way quicker than it should have...haha

Transfers are this week!! I am staying in the same district but leaving Guymon :( I am heading to Hugoton, Kansas with Sister Hansen (who I don't know)! That area has been open forever - but always with Elders. Sooo we are "white washing" the area with Sisters! Pink washing? haha just kidding. It should be a great adventure with a HUGE learning curve! Please send lots of prayers! It will certainly continue to humble me which is what most of this email will be about. Sister Rosell is staying here in Guymon and her MTC companion is her new companion!!! How cool is that?! They will continue to do so well here :) and I'm so grateful I will be able to hear updates on all the investigators here on Tuesdays when we have District Meeting! Tender mercy :)

This week was SUCH a good week with tons of miracles that it would take forever to write about all of them!! So many people are progressing and learning so much as they accept the Gospel into their hearts and their lives :) It is so cool to see the light of Christ grow brighter and brighter in their countenances! I will share one of the cool things that happened this week :) So we felt prompted to knock on a door...so we did! We met a woman named Shaleigh! She has had a rough past that religion hasn't been a big part of. She felt the Spirit as we testified of our conversion to the Savior and how no matter what circumstances come into our lives, we will forever be happy because we know Jesus Christ and His eternal promises. She said she would like us to come back but "good luck" with her husband. The next day we went back and guess who opened the door! Her husbannnnd :) Nick! At first he was like, um no. Really don't want to talk about it. Don't want to argue...just no thanks. We kept talking to him and invited him to always sit in with us when we talk to his wife then he said "yeah, that'll work. I just need a change. I'm never happy." Just in that one conversation with him, he started to change :) we invited them to come to church and told them we'd be there knocking on their door Sunday morning! We went back Sunday morning and woke them up :) haha Shaleigh said she'd go, but there was no way we'd get him to go. THEN in the middle of sacrament meeting, the whole family!!!!! walked in!! :D cannot express the joy. They loved it so much and you could just see the change the Lord was already making on them :) We love them so much and are so grateful for the opportunity to help them come unto Christ as a family!!

Another family we are teaching brought some of their friends to a church tour we set up with them and they accepted a baptismal date!! Miracles are happening here in Guymon!! :D The Lord is truly hastening His work here!

So about the inch and mile stuff :) this week we had exchanges. During the nifty little inventory we have at the end of each exchange, pride was the topic. Pride is the ugliest, ugliest sin. I am so grateful the Lord told me that THAT is what is keeping me from being a powerful, endowed-from-on-high missionary. I am prideful. I just cried and cried during the inventory, almost feeling hopeless! I am like desperate to kill all the pride in my character, in my actions, in everything! I just want it gone! I'm over it! haha Thankfully, the Lord is so merciful and loving, He helped me recognize the manifestations of my pride throughout the day, every day. I literally felt like the dust of the earth. Less than the dust of the earth! haha I realized something very important and life changing this week though. I don't know if I can say that I have made any progress or changes in my character yet just from the realization of last week, but I can say that the Lord blesses us for even having the desire to change and be better. Although I felt like the dust of the earth, the Lord made miracles and we had the best week ever!! I realized that every single thing that has ever happened in my mission has been the greatest miracle because the Lord used me to do it. I really am nothing. But He is everything. How grateful I am that He loves me enough, even with all my pride, to work through me to hasten His work. I love Him so much :)

I love all of you and I hope you have an awesome week!

Con todo mi corazon y mi amor,

Hermana Shumway

Noheli's like, "where's my shirt, mom??" haha :))

Sister Rosell and the birthday shenanigans.....she's pretty
sneaky!! :)

IPad's!

She didn't caption these next few pictures, so I'm not quite sure what's going on in them. :/
